A late-night Google search connected Jess to accessible, affordable abortion pills to be delivered straight to her door. No doctor. No confirmation of the viability of her pregnancy. No supervision.

So many young mothers bypass medical care and counsel, finding quick answers to their moment of crisis with the click of a button. The internet, pop culture, and the abortion industry underplay the danger of the abortion pill, marketing it as easy and safe at-home healthcare while that is far from the truth.

Thankfully, Jess was able to reverse her abortion after taking the abortion pill. Let’s dive into her story. But first, what is the abortion pill, and how could she have the possibility to reverse it?

What Is The Abortion Pill?

The abortion pill is a two-part medication regimen used to terminate a first-trimester pregnancy. The first pill is called mifepristone, which starves the baby of nutrients. Then, the patient is instructed to take a second pill called misoprostol, which forces contractions to expel the dead baby. This can be taken either right away in conjunction with the first pill or up to 48 hours after.

It is only recommended in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy, yet many women take it after the ‘safe’ window of time, putting themselves at risk. The abortion pill is dangerous, and it is even more so when it is ordered online and taken unsupervised at-home.

What Are the Risks of Taking the Abortion Pill?

The abortion pill mimics a miscarriage, so there are guaranteed side effects, such as bleeding and cramping because the body is expelling the baby. Other risks may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, large clots, and low-grade fever.

More severe risks include infection, hemorrhage, incomplete abortion, and maternal death. If the abortion pill doesn’t fully expel the entire pregnancy, surgery is needed to complete the abortion. Other medical interventions may be necessary as well to combat infection.

A 2021 study found that the abortion pill caused a 500% increase in ER visits from 2002 to 2015. Dr. Christina Francis explained that, “5% of the 3.7 million women who have used mifepristone according to the FDA estimates, means at least 185,000 women have suffered and needed surgery and medical treatment as a result.”

Although there are numerous risks to women having abortions at home, the abortion industry pushes the pill as “safe and effective.”

Jess’ Story

The instructions with the pills Jess received read, “Go to your local emergency room if there is too much bleeding.”

Yet, every online resource guarantees there will be excessive bleeding after taking misoprostol, so how should a woman know what is too much bleeding and when they need to go to the emergency room?

Jess didn’t want to find out. After taking the first pill, she immediately regretted her decision. She contacted her friend, who said she would take Jess to the emergency room if she had any complications. What her friend said next stopped Jess in her tracks—she said, “You know you can’t get out of this now.”

But Jess remembered some information she had read about the Abortion Reversal process. She found the number and picked up the phone. Her call changed everything. She was put in contact with a PreBorn! Network Clinic in Florida.

The Clinic’s emergency OBGYN took Jess’ call at 11:15 PM on a Saturday night and called the Abortion Reversal Pills into the pharmacy. Then, she scheduled Jess an ultrasound for Monday, two days later.

What Is the Abortion Reversal Pill?

The first abortion pill, mifepristone, blocks the hormone progesterone, which is necessary for the baby’s growth. Without progesterone, the lining of the uterus breaks down and the baby dies. At this point in the chemical abortion process, the mother can reverse these effects and save her baby’s life if she takes progesterone to counteract the mifepristone in time. This emergency progesterone is called the Abortion Reversal Pill.

The abortion industry tries to undermine its credibility, but the Abortion Reversal Pill has already saved countless lives. In fact, the Abortion Pill Rescue Network reports having saved over 4,000 babies. Women need to know it’s not too late to save their baby once they start the abortion pill process. The Florida PreBorn! Network Clinic that Jess visited has already received five calls for the Abortion Reversal Pill since they started offering the service in October of 2022. Thankfully, Jess was one of them.

Next Steps for Jess

Jess had not shared with her boyfriend that she was going to have a baby. She was going to keep it a secret, ordering the pills by mail (which is still legal). She had a goal of enrolling in medical school and she did not believe it was a good time to start a family.

Yet, Jess’ heart changed when she heard her baby’s heartbeat on the ultrasound screen. She was relieved that it was still beating. She wept when she saw her 13-week-old baby on the screen dancing around. Jess was beyond the recommended time for the abortion pill. Thankfully, she knew about the Abortion Reversal Pill. It saved her baby and herself from medical and emotional complications.

Conclusion

Jess is very excited about having her baby. Since her first ultrasound visit, she has come to the PreBorn! Network Clinic for weekly ultrasounds to confirm a healthy heartbeat. She shared the news with her boyfriend, who is thrilled to become a dad. Jess made the decision to abort alone, quickly and quietly ordering the abortion pill online, yet she was never alone.

Jess and her boyfriend are thankful that the PreBorn! Network Clinic provided Jess with emergency care. She had hope even when her friend told her there was no going back. Taking the Abortion Reversal Pill and realizing she would never get her baby back solidified the permanence of what she was doing. She was ending her child’s life. The Lord made a way, bringing the Abortion Reversal information to her memory in her moment of panic, to save her baby, connecting her to a PreBorn! Network Clinic because of a supporter like you.
