When those two faint lines gradually appeared across the pregnancy test, Lydia was in disbelief. Immediately, the anxiety of her situation set in, and she frantically searched for a way out.

Lydia remembered, “When I first found out I was pregnant, I was shocked and not prepared. I was on birth control, so I didn’t even know that I could get pregnant.”

Already a mother of two toddlers, she felt overwhelmed and unprepared for another child to care for. Thankfully, in her search, she found a PreBorn! Network Clinic and made an appointment.

At the Clinic

When Lydia walked into the Clinic, she was welcomed into a safe place. The Clinic’s nurses greeted her with compassion and love. One staff member said, “We want them (patients) to feel cared for the moment they walk in through the door.

Lydia met with a Nurse Practitioner named Rosemary. She was nervous and scared to open up about her situation, fearing that she would be judged. Yet, the atmosphere was filled with the sweet, comforting nature of the Holy Spirit. Very quickly, Lydia felt more at peace in the welcoming environment to share about the difficult circumstances she was facing that were making her consider abortion.

The Ultrasound Scan

As soon as she saw her baby on the ultrasound screen, Lydia began to cry. Through tears, Lydia told Rosemary, “I don’t ever want to go through an abortion. It’s so scary and sad, it’s really hard.”

There is a clarifying connection between the head and the heart when a mother sees her baby and hears the heartbeat. Mothers see the undeniable little life on the screen and instinctively know the child deserves protection. The womb should be the safest place for a baby.

Lydia laid there in the ultrasound room taking in the sound of her baby’s heartbeat and its little hands moving. “That’s my baby,” she declared.

Peace came over her and without a doubt in her mind, Lydia exclaimed, “I’m going to keep MY BABY.”

After Choosing Life

Lydia gave birth to her beautiful son, Nathan, at the end of August of 2022. His happy grin is pictured below. That sweet smile would have been lost to abortion if not for the free ultrasound scan that saved his life. God already chose Nathan for His delight. Now, Lydia loves and delights in him too along with her other two sons.

Lydia shared that while she is tired and exhausted a lot of the time with her three young boys to care for, she is “over the moon” in love with the new addition to her family. She is grateful for the

care she received at the PreBorn! Network Clinic. Lydia does not regret choosing life, but there are many women who regret abortion.

Conclusion

A simple ultrasound silenced Lydia’s fear. PreBorn! Network Clinics create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit is welcome to dwell, and women feel at ease to take a deep breath, stop, and think. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (NKJV). We thank God that He gave Lydia a sound mind in place of fear that she could choose life for baby Nathan. You can give an ultrasound to a mother like Lydia today.
